On my way back to work, truck just died, no warning what so ever. Open up the battery area and notice that my negative cable was blown off, ran across to Walmart ( luckily broke down from one) and picked up two. Switched them up and got down the road, but die a half a block away, started right up and got it in a lot. Messing with the cables I hit the positive, bam! Blew the negative off again, here's where picking up two came in handy. Noticed sparks and smoke coming from positive, in had got pinched and stripped between the cab and frame. Cut up a beer koozy and wrapped it around the positive and got to work okay. Jacked it up today to replace and relocate the cable and then this happens. my steering rack is leaking. Oh well 1 step forward, 2 steps backwards, it could have been a lot worse. Sorry for the L8R ZFLASH
Glad you found it as well. Yes it can be worse, I was headed home in my 51 on I-505 doing about 75-80 when my hood decided to pop up, hit the safety catch and then BAM it failed. Hood popped up destroying itself and doing a good bit of damage to the cowl. But I got to a safe stop, nobody was hurt. Could have been worse.

It's all about attitude and outlook on life, you can always find a negative in everything, but you can also find a positive in everything too. I too was running pretty hard against a duelly letting my new ls2 do some heavy breathing. I think the cab was shaking a little too much , glad yours turned out okay too. L8R ZFLASH
Check your cab mounts. May be worn. If the cab moves on the frame then that is amplified by the long hood.
Check the frame too. I was having trouble with my hood closing right. I'd adjust it and it was OK then it would go out of adjustment again. Found this after I removed the cab. The mounts were obviously worn out too.
