Talking 1956 F700

My first medium duty truck. Will need a bit of work but it runs and drives, stopping not so much.

Welcome to FTE!

That truck looks to be in pretty good shape. Get those brakes fixed and drive the heck out of it.

It'll tell you what else it needs.

Welcome to FTE, the best Ford truck forum on the World Wide Web. Congrats on the truck and thanks for the pics.

We are glad another 53-56 truck has been saved. Just a trivial note here. An F700 was not considered a medium duty truck by Ford back in the day. They were considered Heavy Duty. Your hood side emblems say 'Big Job' don'they?

Please keep us posted of your progress with lots of pictures.

Welcome to FTE Mark. Good to see another person from MN taking on a great project. Making sure your truck will stop is a good idea. I have used two different routes on finding various parts. You can go online, send for catalogs (Dennis Carpenter, Mid-fifties, & others), or my preferred method is to go to stores/shops & salvage yards. You may be surprised what you can find at a NAPA store. If you come down to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area you can check out Brake & Equipment warehouse in Minneapolis and Little Dearborn, close to the TCF stadium (or their web sites). There are a couple of salvage yards that I have founds parts in too. Good luck.

Just got a new master cyl. from Napa. Two styles I forget which is which but one
is a three bolt mount the other is two bolts that go throught the master body. I thought it was cheap enough at $124 bucks. You need to know piston bore ,mine was ordered for a 1953 F900 (its not for a truck but a 2yd loader) Wagnor Lockhead sam

Hope the trip goes great. Be safe! The weather forecast for Sunday looks good so that should help. Are you planning on keeping it stock? The yard at French Lake is fun to go to & look around.
