4R100 reverse only

I have first gear for a minute or two when I first cold start, then reverse only. Help!

Welcome to the greatest place ever for help. Might pull the codes first with a scanner tool to help determine where to start.

What does it do with the shift handle in the 1 and 2 positions?

Hubby said there was no code. He pulled tranny and is going to attempt it himself.

put truck in reverse, it shuts off.
