I am looking for options. It's so bad at night, I hold a candle out the window to help light up the road. I was asking my BIL and he gave me some crazy option costing close to $1k. Screw that. I don't want to spend that kind of money. I may switch over some lights from a 2003 Excursion that I bought for parts but what about bulbs. Any recommendations.
MUCH better. The install took a couple of hours and I had to buy a couple of adapters to get them working. The manufacturer unhelpfully told me that my truck shouldn't have the connectors that it did. I don't have part numbers for the adpaters but they were readily available at Napa.
I used a dremel to trim the header panel so these would fit. You will definitely need some kind of power cutting tool. The dremel worked great because of its small size. An angle grinder would be much too large.
I bought the angel eyes light from ebay for like $90. They have a clear lens. Put in some bright bulbs from Napa and things are MUCH improved. Cheap and easy no cutting required.
Yep go with some 2005-2007 style lights. They are the business... Lots of threads on this subject in here. You can get the 9007-H13 adapters quite cheaply as well as the lights for a much needed improvement over your current MY2000 fluted lenses.
I do 2 inEXpensive options.
1. I use a brighter 9007 bulb like Silver Stars
2. I use a Bright BOX (it keeps the dims on while running the brights) You can do this to see if you like it by holding the bright switch back by hand. ONLY for testing, If you do that as a fix you will burn the switch out.
I drive back country roads at night & this works great for me...
Oh CRAP PC don't even go there please.
I have seen all the #'s as well. So, should I have typed WHITER COLOR ?? Yes I know, the one EXample I posted just uses a coating over the glass. There are several manufactures of what I consider to be a BETTER BULB (over OEM) just did not feel like a BEST BRAND debate.
Brighter, Better Than The OEM No matter how they do it. It WORKS better for me. My old eyes tend to respond best to a whiter light .
If I have to put the whitest incandescent bulb available in a home fixture it still looks like **** yellow to me now. The blue is too far on the other side of the spectrum for my taste & wallet SO I do not know what those look like from the driver's seat

don't tell people to spend more money on something that isn't brighter and I will not go there.
1. YES I got my $12 check
2. I DID NOT TELL anyone to buy ANYTHING. YOU JUST DID. (can we say PROJECTION ((pun intended))
3. I made a statement of what works VERY WELL for me.
4. I buy them on ebay for $10 OR LESS all day long.
