Another great option! And I highly doubt they cost you $1,000 bucks!
Haha, nope they didn't. I had some of those eagle eye type that were complete junk...so I replaced them. I was in the OP position where a candle out the window would have helped!
1. YES I got my $12 check
2. I DID NOT TELL anyone to buy ANYTHING.
No you didn't Harley, but you recommended something that isn't what it is/was advertised to be. You even admitted you got a check yourself from them for their misleading advertising Pirate only "Went there" to keep him from wasting money on a crap product. Now Krazee Matt runs a bright *** bulb in his fog lights that would light up the road LEGALLY if you're interested and is straight plug in. Maybe he or Stewart will chime in with the bulb size.

PLEASE RE-READ MY POST
You will not find the words YOU SHOULD (anything), BUY or RECOMMEND in it. I simply STATED what I do,What I have done, AND What I will continue to do !!! IS THAT FN OK ON THIS BOARD ???
"You even admitted you got a check yourself from them"
You write that like I should be ashamed I did certainly confirm I was aware of the suit. ME thinks YOU put way too much faith in the SUE-ME Tribe. I don't care if Silvania called them BRIGHTER,WHITER,OR said you will have models beating down your door on Friday Night if you buy these bulbs. NONE of that changes the FACT that they work GREAT for me AND have for over 5 YEARS. I'm running 3 sets right now.
"Pirate only "Went there" to keep him from wasting money on a crap product."
PC DID NOT go there !! He curbed his enthusiasm & I appreciate it. SO, because some scumbag attorney won a lawsuit, YOU have determined they are a CRAP product & are a WASTE of money ?? YOU are more than welcome to think that if you want, Is it OK if I don't ???
"Now Krazee Matt runs a bright *** bulb in his fog lights"
The OP has a 2000 which does not have fog lights SO I'm sure he will find that suggestion VERY HELPFUL.
"that would light up the road LEGALLY"
NOW you are suggesting I have RECOMMENDED something ILLEGAL. DANG Jon take a chill .
I LOVE MY PADDLE MIRRORS. THEY WORK GREAT FOR ME. I HAVE EVEN TRADED TOW MIRRORS FOR MOUSE EARS, AND I THINK I GOT THE BETTER END OF THE DEAL !!! Now, How is that for an admission Is that ok with everyone ???
I am looking for options. It's so bad at night, I hold a candle out the window to help light up the road. I was asking my BIL and he gave me some crazy option costing close to $1k. Screw that. I don't want to spend that kind of money. I may switch over some lights from a 2003 Excursion that I bought for parts but what about bulbs. Any recommendations.
Putting some HID or LEDs in there would make a huge difference. Yes the stock housing does not give you the best output possible with HIDs, but it is far better than halogens. I run 4300K Hids in my '05 housings. I also have the 20" light bar in the bumper that is awesome at night. I did finally hook up a dimmer switch to it though so I don't blind everyone around me.
I appreciate all the options except for the peanut butter one. My neighbor saw me smearing peanut butter on my lenses. I know he thought I was a nutjob before but I think I have just confirmed it. I am popular with the neighborhood dogs though.
I am going to pull the lenses out of the 03 and switch them over and buy new bulbs. I don't want to modify anything. I am looking for plug-n-play. Any tips for the brightest bulbs that are reasonably priced?
Besides the 2 tabs that slide up, is there another catch? I couldn't get them to come out. I know I am missing something.

There are screws just above the bumper and below the turn signal, two of them I think. Silverstars are nice but when I had them in another truck they would burn out after about a year. That might have been due to the daytime running lamps though come to think of it. You can buy the bright bulbs through advance autoparts online and use a discount code and get 20% off if that helps.
