Which PCM model do I need?
Long story, I had my truck in for repair when the company goes out of business. Takes weeks for me and twelve other people to get our vehicles out of the place. Lovely individual.
Had my truck towed home because the PCM is now missing.
Lovely individual.
So I need to buy another however I can't seem to understand which one to get.
They all say look for the model/sticker on the PCM. But..... I don't have one.

Can I determine from the VIN or so other way on the engine?
That facts that I think make a difference reading the posts are,
2000, F-250 Super Duty, 7.3, Automatic, NOT California, 225,000 miles.

Note the differences between his reference to the e99 vs L99-01 years.

I've seen the reference to the DPC-422.
Some will list long a few different variations with long numbers like XC3F-xxxx , XU7F-xxx, etc. (might not be the exact number)
So I don't need to worry about those variations as long as it's a DPC-422? Is that right? Thanks again.
The DPC-422 is a "family" of PCMs that are similar, but PCM Codes like PMT1 or XC3F are more specific. Anything in the family will operate the truck just fine. You can get a reman with a warranty but I'd do a junkyard first. Way cheaper and if it's good, it's just as good as anything else you can get.
