I don't typically jump in to your drama, but here goes anyway....Congrats Apoc...that's far & away the dumbest thing (sans Brent) I've read on this forum.
A bit ironic, I would add. Your "improvements" to your Ex has done nothing to increase its value. You might want to follow your own advice and scrap that front bumper. That alone would scare me away...Good luck finding buyers...you are going to need it.
I have no idea what "drama" you're referring to, but whatever. I guess all the "Improvements" like the new brakes (OEM rebuilds with the best pads and rotors for the money), steel braided lines (Improvement over stock), Bilstien shocks (Improvement over stock), Banks Headers (Improvement over stock), Stainless ESOF lines (Improvement over stock), Bilstien Stabilizer (Improvement over stock)... I think I've made my point. Most of the things I've done to my truck are improvements. I'll never see that money again and I am 100% aware of that. However it has increased it's value, just not as much as I am asking. If someone walks up and hands me as much as I'm asking I would be insanely surprised but I would take it without hesitation. Would I take 2k less, no I love my truck to much and have put to much into it.

I wasn't being aggressive at all, I was actually being extremely nice. I think for some reason you were looking to deep into what I was saying and wanting to see something just so you could post that. I am on a lot of medication, and I take offense to that statement. I have serious depression problems, I have Aspergers syndrome, and 1-2 other things. You joking about "Changing up your meds" is insulting and insensitive. Would you tell someone that's mentally challenged to stop acting like a retard?

Thanks for making my point...
I don't have any idea why you are being so damn hostile towards me and making all the personal attacks (there was no reason for posting this in here) but a rusted out truck that's been beat all to hell is in no way the same a some surface rust on the tips of a 1 inch thick piece of steel. Show me how to "beat all to hell" a piece of 1 inch thick steel and I'll back down but damn man, lighten the hell up. When the bumper came in it was on some dinky little pallet and had fallen over and chipped the powder coat on the high points where it hit the ground. I'll give you a hint, it's the D ring holders.
So kind of like i should give the 7.3 another try?
Sure, why not? If you have done your homework and educated yourself on the various engines available and armed with that knowledge have decided that they are within both your budget and interest, go for it!
I am a big fan of the V-10, and an even bigger fan of working to make them a better tow vehicle, but the diesels are both great motors with tons of potential if modding is your thing.
I kind of like want this truck to last me for a looong time , idk im hoping that 7.3 i drove was indeed a pos, also my girl automatically said -pff theres no way im driving this thing- which atm was a huge turn off lol but now the more i think about it the more i wonder how fair i really was to the truck , maybe next time i test drive one ill make sure i get up to 70mph and see how it cruises, and ill leave my girl home idk why her opinion kind of like affected my judment that day, she wants an grand cherokee and pff theres no way im driving that thing
Don't buy a car/truck together unless you're married. If it's your dollar it's your decision. DH and I buy vehicles as a family decision. We don't have individual vehicles (although we both know the Ex is really mine, lol.) He wasn't too happy about the new license plate frame I installed however....
He has a car for use through his work that he is ONLY allowed to use for work purposes so does the family no good.

You really ought to drive more of each of the engine types- I drove about 20 vehicles (mostly 7.3s, but a couple of 6.0s and a V10) in the 1.5 years we were looking for ours. Some of each were REALLY turds, and a couple of the stock 7.3s ran especially good, including the one we bought.
It was enlightening, to say the least.
We want ours to last 20 years also, we don't jump around with vehicles.
My wife didn't like driving the Ex at first, but with some tuning of the steering to stop a 'wandering' issue, she absolutely loves driving it now. Good luck!
TOM, you beat me to it, but yeah even the 7.3 runs at higher rpms, it is not a cummins 12v.
the 7.3 runs at higher rpms, you are going to want more along the lines of 2200 rpms at 70 mph on that v10 also. they are happier revving, you might notice they do not include a red line on the v10 tach
in the long run the v10 will cost you less to buy and operate even with poorer gas mileage.
I have owned diesels, and did consider a 7.3, but the difference in cost to purchase is just stupid money. 10K difference in cost v10 to 7.3 for low mileage options, that buys a crap load of upgrades on the v10.

Back in 2000, the 7.3 was a $5000 option. Ask me how I know
