2001 F-250 electrical problems

Okay, I've got a 2001 F250 V10, I'm having the my windshield leaks into the fuse block electrical problems. All the symptoms I have found in the forms and one that I haven't seen. When it rains everything starts acting up radio stays on blower motor stays on cargo light stays on. The problem I haven't read about isn't really a problem the power windows start working. The only time they work is when it rains. Has anyone else had this issue? Thank you

Maybe when it gets wet it makes a better ground connection. Or possibly the water lubes the window track so the glass slides easier.
Walk me through the thought process here, why are you rolling the window down in the rain?

Well neither the door locks or power windows work, which from what I understand is common on these trucks. The windows only work till the fuse block dries out then everything goes back to normal. I randomly push the window button in hope of it working is how I found out when it will and won't work.

How long has the windshield been leaking? I am assuming your fuse block has become corroded. When it's dry, the window circuits don't get any electricity. When it rains, the window fuse gets wet and it temporarily completes the circuit allowing the windows to work for a while.
I realize it's an old truck, but the continued windshield leak will probably make all of your electrical gremlins get worse....

It is your GEM module it sits on top of the fuse box in side the cab. You need to get a new one and I personally would remove it and silicone the whole thing shut after the dealer installs it. it controls everything from wipers to the doors to the radio. I think its 400 for the module plus labor to program it to you specific vehicle or so I was told I have just stuck with the one I had and silicone it shut since I don't have a lot of power options. I would also recommend changing the fuse box it wasn't to bad cost wise.

also you may get by pulling it out letting it dry completely out with dry rice and then putting it all back together with silicone. This is the route I took because I am too cheap to go to ford and have them do it. I also rewired most of the electronics in the truck including the whole instrument cluster. Mine did fine after all that on the rain soaked side of Washington state.

It does sound like something strange is going on with the fuse block. I can't guarantee we'll be able to fix it (water and electronics do not mix well) but we'd love to take a look for you. Call us and we'll shoot you over some information on where to send it.
