Cannot figure out why my front power windows are not moving properly. I thought it was the motor/regulator and replaced entire unit with new Ford parts. I then disconnected the regulator back from the window and tried to lower it by hand. It moved only a few inches then bounded up tight. I sprayed the window channels with silicone with still no luck. The window is so tight that the motor blows the fuse. Anyone have any suggestions?
Oh, I just bought this truck a 2001 F250 Crew Cab XLT with power windows and locks.
Thanks. Do you know how the window tracks are adjusted? I had thought of this also, but could not figure out how. There are two bolts holding the front track in place, but there does not appear to be any adjustment in them when loose.
I'm having a similar problem after having to put on a new door. I tried adjusting the tracks but still having the problem, anyone have any other thoughts on this?
Update...after spending several hours today working on this I still cannot seem to find a fix. I bought this truck used, could it be possible the door glass has a incorrect bow or maybe to large?
I disconnected the regulator from the glass to be able to move the glass up and down by hand. From the 1/4 to 3/4 up positions the window is very tight in the channel. So much so that it will stay in any position left. The front channel is bolted in a fixed position with no adjustment. The back channel does have one single adjustment bolt at the bottom which allows the lower portion of the channel to be moved forward or back. But no matter what position my window glass still binds up when going up.
sorry didn't get back with you but it seems that your glass is wrong? Strange though. Only other suggestion I have is to see if you know someone at a body shop that does those routinely. Maybe they know the trick.
