IPR TROUBLES ?

Around 1500 miles ago I did OEM oil cooler, STC fitting, stand pipes, dummy plugs, and EGR delete (welded). Last week had 2 long cranks. Saturday cranked up great drove to store would not crank. Had towed to my shop. Took out IPR didn't look too bad. Cleaned put it back in cranked ok but a little long. Cranked two to four times let sit an hour, would not crank.

KOEO. Cranking
IPR 14.81. 84.71
ICP 0. 333.
FICM 48.0. 48.0
FICM Logic 12.5. 10.5 - 11.5
RPM. 0. 172
SYNC 0. 1

Unplugged ICP shows 880 but no crank.
I know you need 500 or better to crank,but why sparatic like that. Crank sometimes and not others.

Well I had KOEO and Cranking separated but for some reason it put them together. Sorry.

Freakin iPad....

IPR 84% and ICP < 500 = HPO leak I'm thinking. Can you air test?

If you don't have the oil rail or IPR fittings I can ship you mine.

Thanks!! I'll play with it tomorrow and let you know.

When cranking I can hear a off note. Like wump wump very slight but it's there and same rhythm. Is that normal?

Sounds like HPO LEAK or maybe pump and pump might be dragging it down

What do you mean crank sometimes but not others

ICP 333 and IPR 84.9%, I bet the IPR valve is toast. I had similar numbers a few months ago. The IPR valve looked just fine, no debris and the screen was intact. Even the ohms tested good. As soon as I put a new valve in the ICP built pressure again then fired right up. Just a thought.

Blade, last week I had 2 long cranks. 20-30 seconds before fire up. Saturday morning cranked fine drove 5 miles and would not fire. Took off IPR cleaned it fired right up. Let sit 30 min fired right up. 1 hour would not fire. Fooled around with it fired up 3 hours later with ALOT of cranking. Now will not fire up at all just cranks.

Shaneb last time I got it to fire I was so frustrated with it I put a qt. of marvel mystery oil and after 40 sec or so it fired and ran. I let it run 30 min or so and all things checked out right. ICP went up to 8000 plus before settling in at 1200 or so at idle. Nothing since. Going to shop tomorrow and stare at it and think ;-) have Dashboss and Scangauge 11 now. Any suggestions?

The thing is you have eliminated 95% of the most common leaks points on a 6.0. Nipple cups and injectors do leak but less common than STC and dummy plugs. It sounds like a leak but as meant from be Benny and jmaskew the IPR and the pump are on the table as well.

Things to consider.... I'm typically not an advocate of throwing parts at it but past air testing the numbers are pointing to the other two...

* Air test - Free
* IPR - 200ish
* pump 600ish
