Your crazy you went all that way to bring your coolant system up to par only to put Ford gold crap back in it? Sure it will be fine now but what about tomorrow or week from now or two weeks and so forth. Your probably right nothing might happen but why take that chance it's not like ELC is that far off in price?

If your FICM is good now and no issues go ahead get yourself that Atlas40 I have heard nothing bad and only good.

Make sure your monitoring not only Deltas but also voltages for battery and your FICM voltage. If your monitor don't do this then get yourself what I did this week a bluetooth OBD adapter and download Torque Pro.

Good luck!

I'm reading back in your thread and kind of curious after all the work you had done for $2000 why did you not spend extra $200 or less and purchase the ARP Head Stud kit? That's just crazy but I hope you don't end up with issues later.

I initially wanted the arp kit but the dealers tech ordered parts and installed without giving me the say so he originally did. If you want the full story of how difficult it was to get my truck fixed cheaply and what not you can dm me.

They went with oem gasket and tty bolts.

Looking back, this isn't a truck I'm wanting to build or keep forever even. The atlas 40 would be the only thing done to increase any power.

With the help of this website some friends and my new fav shop, I'm comfortable with the oem stuff. What's important is monitoring.
If I were towing heavy and often or just constantly givin her hell itd be different. A 2wd truck wont do when I move back east/south. So why dump all my pennies into unnecessary parts.

Well I understand it not being your forever truck. Just figured if your in that deep might as well replace bolts with studs but to each their own.

No insult given just curious why you didn't do it and I appreciate your response and I do truly understand your reasoning. Hopefully you do find that forever truck and it is still a Ford 4x4 one day

TTY's have been run on thousands of trucks without issue and when taken care of, should last a long time..... The only thing I'd comment on is that when looking for a truck, ARP studs are a selling point, to me anyway. Without them, I'm paying for a major repair sometime down the road.

Wow! Not only are stock bolts the weak link, but the resell value of the truck with studs would have been higher and is easily worth the cost of the parts. Leave her stock as tuning will get you back to another hg leak if you arent careful.

That's true and I agree.
I would have rather had the studs. But when the dealer offered to do the job for 2k instead of 6k, I wasn't going to argue too much. Remember this is a shady auction dealer we're talking about. Not a Ford of (insert city name). With what the truck will be worth in a few more years, I might just keep it as work/play truck for the summer.

None taken bud! You're only trying to help and I understand that. I appreciate the kind words. Idk if it'll be a ford.. unless it's got a cummins in it. Id love a 05-07 6.6 but the money people want for them is just ridiculous.
