Can there still be injector cup issues when my Blackstone report shows zero coolant or fuel in the oil? My AL and Si levels were also up a bit and they suggested air filter issues. Never had any before so I guess I need to check for damage.
So, in a round about answer... Yes I'd feel fairly confident in saying you could have cup issues without seeing any coolant or fuel in the oil. The cup doesn't isolate the coolant or the fuel from the oil. That would be injector o-rings.
Thanks for the replies. I guess my injector O-rings are good so far. No visible damage to the air filter or the intake tube to the turbo, but the hose clamp on the filter itself was just snug but not real tight. That being said there was absolutely no dirt/dust inside.
If you have a stock air filter box you could have unfiltered air entering on the long edges along the filter. I've heard that's an issue with our trucks.
Also, (not to scare you into pulling injectors) but my truck had several beat up injector o-rings when I pulled mine. Most of the bad ones were the very bottom o-ring which wouldn't leak anywhere so long as the copper washer was sealed well.
If you're not detecting diesel in your oil, and you're not seeing it in your surge tank (diesel will sit on top of coolant) I wouldn't worry about your injector cups.
