Hey everyone, I hope spring is well on its way where ever you are!
Any how I could use a little help.
I m, getting ready to replace my fuel pump and few GP's on the driver side.
I noticed i was a little low on coolant. I don't see any coolant leaks.
does this mean it is O-ring time... I would love not to have to do them. but while i;m in there should i go a head?
How do i know when I need o rings?
I'm a little confused...which o-rings are you asking about?
If injector o-rings go bad I am pretty sure you will start to see oil mixed with fuel (when you open the fuel bowl)
No worries.... Yep m wondering a bout my injector o rings.... I am pulling the driver side VC for the glow plugs...
I m wondering about injector 0 ring because i seem to have coolant disappearing mysteriously.
I did put new water pump in a month and 1/2 ago.. but did not drive it a ton after... but i still think all the coolant would have worked through and I would not have to add more...
I will check the fuel bowl for oil... any thing else I need to look for?
thanks a bunch!

coolant doesn't go anywhere near the injector o-rings. The o-rings separate oil and fuel.
If you are loosing coolant you might look closely at your oil cooler, water pump, head gasket area etc. that stuff can leak out from anywhere...
Have you smelled your exhaust for the burning coolant smell?
Are you seeing oil in the coolant or vice versa? Are you using SCAs in your coolant? There is always a change that it could be cavitation of the block.

Well that is something... sort of....
I have an oil sample in the mail so I should have results soon. so that will tell me if it my oil cooler. I do run SCA,, and have the whole time i ve had the truck.
I did not smell coolant in the exhaust but I will sniff again.
