Mine is dated 1976 inside the controller box. It operates trailer brakes the same as a new control box does, but turning the **** adjusts gain. Left is less brake input, turn clockwise for more. Manually slide the **** to the right to check gain. The benefit to the older boxes is the fact trailer brake application is based on hydraulic pressure. There is no delay. I had to unhook mine while doing all the swapping ive been doing, but it will be reinstalled. Wiring is the same, but my box is wired in to two circuit breakers.
