I am trying to finalize my under the hood build
Does anyone have a picture or part number of the upper battery
bracket that goes from the battery mounting bolts to the
radiator support. I know it had one at one time because the
screw was in the radiator support
Now, remember, some of these drawings are just "typical" of the installation and may not be spot on to all given years shown at the bottom of the drawing.
Given that, I bet you're talking about this bracket
Part number is
C5TZ-10A691-A
I do not see any available NOS. Bill has a few more resources than I do.
Used would probably be a good option.
The drawing above shows the later fiber-reinforced battery hold down clamp (10718) that I think they started using in 1967 or 1968.
The 1966 battery hold down clamp (10718) is all metal, round like bar stock across the top, with a rubberized coating. Battery acid could get under the rubber coating and start to eat away at it. Then it was only a matter of time.
I hope that helps some. If you want a picture of the 10718 hold down I can take one or two pics of one of those.
I have always wondered what should be there but Napa seemed to have something that worked. I love the PDF picture, that could come in handy. When you think these older trucks are simple, you have an odd one. Thank you fella's for the information.

I do not see any available NOS. Bill (NumberDummy) has a few more resources than I do. No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
Used would probably be a good option.

Ford replaced the original battery hold down in 1970 with DODZ-10718-B (replaced DODZ-10718-A). It's molded plastic, also used on 1970/72 Maverick/Comet.
CARPENTER NOS OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC (800-476-9653) has 3,776 of the original DODZ-10718-A part number.
