Well got the tires today. Got Firestone LT245X75X16 10 ply. Wow what a difference. Thanks for all the inputs. fuel. I lpicked up by 2 mpg on the trip home. Tire guy said they was all shot after 10K of use. The tire guy has been selling us tires for over 20 years.

Were they Firestone Transforce by any chance, our friends are running them on their 3 axle trailer with good results. I would run them but they don't have the weight rating I need for our trailer.

The last set of tires on my TV were those Firestones. They did OK but I was somewhat disappointed in the wear on the truck but 50% in 30K hauling 12K - not a big deal. One plus, well, two - the truck's ride was a lot smoother then the new Michelins and a little better in the fuel mileage department

It was the space between tires. We couldn't go bigger

The 265 need a minimum 7" wheel, most trailer wheels are only 6".

I ran the 265s on my last F350 SRW work truck and loved them, I also ran them on my last DRW ( 215/85/16 )with great success and averaged 45K per set. If you figure the price difference between them and some other high priced brands they are a good deal. When it comes time to replace the OEM tires on my truck that's what I'm going to.
