What are the sizes. You do not want to go too small. Most tire shops use to keep good used tires in stock for resale. I think most sell them off to places like A1 tire now who will sell you the tires. and mount them.
Check Kijiji.ca I see people always posting tires on there and also usedstoon.ca Maybe there you can find a decent pair of tires.
Walmart and Canadian tire sell the cheapest tires that I know. Problem is they do not have a long life. They tend to get wore out in a year.

when i worked at glenwood auto in sutherland they used to have used tires for $14 each. i wouldnt recommend geting them put on there tho they make up for the discount there. I also hear really good things about A1 tire on 11 st and ave P

At this time of the year they go fast at SGI. snow on ground and people suddenly head to SGI. their tires can be expensive for a set. Individually they are cheaper. Ihave a van full of tires here, but not all the same make and sizes. You need to have the tires the same size. like PR235 x15 The first numbers are the sidewall height. The next is rim then usually rim width.
These should be all the same for best driving control.

The most common size of 15 inch tire, and I dont have any of those left. Well I do have a few but they arent really the greatest.

Morris I have a set of 265/75/16's left, no 245's left.
