No problem with heat at all.. The only time it runs is when I add air to the bags which is infrequent. If I were using the air for horns or for filling a large holding tank, it might be different.

I also gave the heat issue a thought, but came to the same conclusion as Randy. To get the bags to 45# the compressor might run 30 seconds. Then it doesn't run again until I hitch up again. My intake is remote so it doesn't use hot air from inside the box, and if you look close above the head of the compressor, there is a brass fitting, which is a vent to let purge air and heat out.

No, it's a steel military surplus ammo can. So far so good. Once in a while it will say communication failure, but it will link back up and work in a few seconds. Part of that may have to do with the fact that the whole thing is dead until I turn the upfitter on, which I usually don't do until I'm ready to use it. Part of it may have to do with the manifold having so much steel around it. Regardless it always works.

I installed the Firestone system, I know you asked about Air Lift, but from what I could tell they are very similar.
I had the system installed on my 2008 F-250, and moved it to my 2013, I bought new bags but used the compressor and manifold. I also installed the pump above my spare tire. The pump/electronic manifold failed after 5 years, so pretty good life. The manifold was stuck open and wouldn't allow me to fill air in the bags, and it was somehow draining my batteries, but the pump didn't run??
I just piped it back to the rear bumper and fill from there. I thought I would like the remote, but I found that i couldn't go anywhere past the gas fill or it would loose contact with the controller. I couldn't sit in the cab and use the remote, to far to connect, so wasn't pleased about that, plus the remote ate up 9v batteries constantly.
Hopefully the air lift remote works better, just thought I would share.

My last pickup I used air paddles, they worked great and have zero complaints on functionality. Always thought about wireless options to free up space, had them in glove box. I have read both good and bad on connectivity I am thinking to mock it up on the bench and see what range I have. If you have to get out what good is the wireless aspect? Depending on my route for subwoofer was thinking to install it in the cab to keep clean but do like the idea of it outside the cab
