Im a proud owner of a 2011 f250 6.7 xlt short bed. We tow a 40 ft fifth wheel toy hauler (just under 12k dry) and are in need of an air bag kit. No one I know has an air bag kit, but from what I've heard they are great to help with towing larger trailers. I'd like some advise on what brand of kit, how easy to install. I would also like some information on a compressor kit too so that I could fill the bags as i tow, and maybe an air chuck somewhere on the vehicle so if i need to i could air up a tire.... am I dreaming or is there a kit that will include all of this?
I have an AirLift 5000 Series with AirLift Dual Controller Compressor system on my truck and would not be without it. The compressor is mounted just behind the driver's side front door with controls and dials mounted just to the side of my right knee on center console. (Chevy 2500HD Dmax) I also have air stems mounted in my license plate just in case the compressor fails and I need to add air with an external compressor.
Got my system from TruckSprings.com about 11 yrs ago and it still works fine after being on 2 trucks.
We offer a control system just like you are describing called Quickshot. It includes a compressor, tank, gauges for the bags, and a coil air hose for filling tires and such.
The actual air bag kit we offer for your truck is 57395, assuming it is 2wd. The 4wd kit is 57396. Both kits were recently redesigned for easier installation, as many were having some difficulties with our original kit.
We also offer a simpler Quickshot system that only has controls for the bags tied together rather than independently. If you have any specific questions or concerns I would be happy to help.
I assume your truck is a 4x4. If it is, stay far away from any Firestone Ride-Rite 'non-interference' kit that utilizes any part of their Model 2400 mounting hardware.... TOTAL crap. I had to re-engineer and fabricate lower mounts for both bags because the original design folded over like a cheap suit in no time.
As far airbags in general, they're completely awesome. Take a look at most tractor-trailer setups....airbags are on most of them for good reason.
The in-cab setup is a bare minimum configuration IMHO. I started out with schrader valves only and that lasted 1 trip before I decided to add an air compressor setup. I don't have an air tank and don't really miss that feature as I had a compressor/tank I kept in my old toy box (it'll be going into my new 5ver later this week). I can see where some may want that feature though.
Airbags are a GREAT addition to a setup like you have, I highly recommend them / can't imagine not having them now that I've had them for a number of years.
Well, looks like I need to read before posting, because I just posted a thread asking virtually this same exact question. Anyways, Mike, what is the part number for the Qickshot kit that has dual control for each bag independently? Also, does the kit contain all the necessary hoses to run the lines?

The Quickshot for dual control is 25572. The link I previously posted was for the install manual for this kit specifically. Here's the link again though. The Quickshot kit includes everything from lines to fittings and wiring that is needed to attach it to an airbag kit. Do you already have an airbag kit on your truck? The Quickshot is just for controlling, it does not include the brackets and bags designed for your truck specifically. You may already understand this, but wanted to make sure.
