Firestone ride rite ECU problems

I purchased the firestone kit a little over a year ago. I've had to replace the ECU 3 times. The third one just failed too. Firestone has been a pain to deal with and offers no reason for the failure. They just ship out a new ECU and a few months later it dies too.

I think it's something to do with the wireless communication between the remote. Anyways, I opened up all three to see if there was anything noticeably wrong inside the ECUs. I found a lot of corrosion on the sensors for each the airbags and the accessory.

Anyone else have problems with Firestone - here's the kit:

Firestone Wireless Air Command II - Digital Gauge w/ Standard-Duty Compressor - Dual Function

I wonder if Airlift's wireless would work with the Firestone bags? I don't have much faith in the Firestone product.

Firestone if you are listening, here's my complaints when they ruddy thing "IS" working:

No battery meter for remote.

Can't stop bags from filling or deflating until the settin has been reached. A problem for a guy with a fault ECU that says one bag is 80 while the other Is 6. And I tested the bags directly and they were both at 5.

iPhone functionality.

Accessory pressure reading is never right.

Maybe needs a filter on the line from the compressor to stop moisture in lines and corrosion?

Thanks

Have them ship you a the other kit. It has been flawless. Also for the compress ensure they send you the sealed regulator for the compressor.

Can't comment on the Firestone compressor but I have the Firestone Air Bags with the Airlift Wireless Air setup and it works fine together. I don't think the Airlift kit is perfect by any means as it gave me some grief until I figured out I had to isolate the unit from the frame - the rubber isolators with small screws they give you to attach it to anything are useless. Upsized the screws and removed inserts from inside isolators and of course they compressed enough that the body of the compressor touched the frame and it wouldn't work - had to isolate the compressor from the frame with plastic shims. After a lot of hassle it has worked properly ever since for about six months now. I'm not overly impressed with AirLift for the price given the overall quality but not a lot of choices out there. Their remote functions very well and you can stop the fill points and change direction to inflate or deflate whenever you want - comes in handy when levelling with the 5th wheel attached.

I have the firestone set up on my truck, I had it on my 2008 and transferred it to my 2013, had to buy diffent mounts for the 2013 but the rest of the system is original. I haven't had any issues with my system. I live in the desert though so maybe that helps.

I recently installed the RideRite on my F250 and I am already on my second ECU. The first unit would disconnect more often than it would work. The 2nd unit will only work within 5 feet of the remote. If I walk around the front of the truck or sit in the truck I get an ECN error. The system has been so unreliable so far that I have not gotten to use it with my RV. Did you ever get your's working?

HaHaHa Had to laugh. How many times have we responded to a thread that was old and not look at the date.

I think it's cool when these old threads pop up. It shows we're searching.
