I have a 2000 f250 with the 7.3 and 181,000 miles on it, recently got stuck in the snow (in 2wd because i forgot to lock the hubs) and the rear wheels did alot of spinning. Now i randomly have the OD light start to blink, sometimes its a half a blink, sometimes itll stay on for a few seconds, itll do it randomly while crusing down the road at a constant speed, also noticed my rpms fluctuate a tad at idle. Any help would be much appreciated
That OD light blinking indicates that there is something amiss with the transmission. It doesn't have be anything serious and may just be a sensor but you will need some sort of scanner to read it. Auto Enginuity is a popular one around here, someone else will chime in with what other scanners can read the transmission codes. You other option would be to take to a stealership and give them your first born son to read it for you. You might also find someone in your neighborhood who can help you out. Tugly has a link in his signature labeled B.E.S.T. and it lists scanner owners and their locations.
