Help my e4od is being tricky

Pretty simple my 92 bronco with an e4od that need the front seal replaced. Dropped it and now I'm at the point where I'm trying to install with the help of a transmission jack, however it's being an a$$h@|e it's parked at an incline since the suspension is stock and no where on the property is leveled enough to work with. I just need advice, tips, and wisdom. I been trying so hard to install it, work my *** off to buy. The owner was an idiot and didn't tell me that the front seal was worn so I ran it for a day and parked it worked on it since the second of Jan. In cold, record setting rains. Please any word will help

I wish I had some good tips for you but I haven't dealt with the auto transmissions.

I don't know the weight of the E4OD compared to the M5OD, so I can't really imagine the struggle of aligning things up down there. Plus, the manual transmissions have to deal with aligning the input shaft, where you have to mess with the torque converter for the auto.

If you can fit underneath the truck easily near the jack, I would try and push the transmission as close as you can to the block. Pump up the jack as level as you can and try and get a bolt or two aligned in the transmission to the block. I think if you get one bolt it, it will help quite a lot to align the other bolts, then you can secure the torque converter to the flexplate.

Again, I haven't installed an auto trans before so my advice may not be the best, but hopefully it can help some. Anyways good luck! I'm sure someone on here has done it before and can chime in with some better advice!

Find some bolts about 3 inches long that are the same thread, cut the heads off and saw a slot in them for a screwdriver. Screw them into the block on each side. Helps to guide the trans in easier, you can get one side started, then the other.

Are you working with the trans alone? where is the transfer case? if the transfer is down with the trans, separate them, if it's installed in the truck, see if removing it will give you more room to work (easier to deal with the transfer than the transmission). Let us know how are you working on the truck, apart from the uneven terrain.
