I have a Pioneer head unit and am using this iSimple hands free calling AUX cable for my Samsung phone. It seems to work well and I have no static on my end, but the person I am talking to has tons of static. I believe it is alternator noise. They say it increases with speed or throttle. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?
I was told by an electrical engineer and an electrical technician that you can test a capacitor this way. I've been trying to find a friend with a meter than can measure capacitance and nobody seems to have one.
Unplug the capacitor, see if it gets any worse. You could also try getting a reasonable 100-200 uFd capacitor rated for something above 12VDC (40V is common) then use some jumper leads to see if the noise goes away.
