electric choke open electrically?

Im rebuilding the Motocraft 2 barrel carb on our 1979 Bronco. I got out my ohm meter and tested the electric part of the choke on the bench. From the connector where the electric connects to the choke to the metal part of the choke there is no continuity. It is open!
Wonder if that little heater is burned out. If you have experience with this, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks, Patrick

Same thing happened to mine. I bought a new choke coil from RockAuto which fixed the problem.

Thank you jas88. I should be able to finish my carb rebuild and replace that when I get the choke coil. Patrick
