Electric choke slow to open
Hi,
I have a F-100 with a 360, 2100 motorcraft carb with an electric choke. When the choke opens it takes about 7-10 minutes, that's when it wants to work. I have to stick something in there so it doesn't choke it self out while waiting for the choke to open. My question is should it take that long for the choke to work? If not what do I need to replace the entire assembly or maybe just the coil that heats up?
Also when it does decide to work it takes about two hours for the coil to cool down, is that normal?
Thanks.

There's a coil spring inside that plastic choke cover..it has seen better days, all the tension is gone. Time for a new one.
I'm not sure what you mean by the "coil" cooling down.
