2002 ford excursion 7.3. Started up fine started driving started sputtering like lack of fuel stalled. Tried to start wouldn't start without pumping the pedal. Started and died. Now it won't start at all. Check the codes. No codes. Fuel Guage read in between 1/4 and half which is about right. Where do I start testing an how. Waiting for a tow and going to add some fuel incase the pickup came off
Iif it did how much fuel do I need in it?
Any ideas and help would be great thank you in advance
If it is an issue with the foot in the tank coming off and the truck only just died, then it really shouldn't take too much fuel to get it to the point where it would pick up again. Is your fuel pump running? Can you hear it when you first turn the key on? The pump could have taken a dump, there could be debris clogging your intake in the tank, could be a number of different things. In take it that you don't have a fuel pressure gauge?
It could be other things that are causing an issue to, but I agree that fuel issues are one of the first things I would look at.
