Unhappy 2006 Ranger XLT 3.0 Problem

I have a 2006 Ranger XLT 3.0 that is vibrating hard/rough idling, cel is on (solid, not flashing), has trouble accelerating with pedal punched. Will sometimes get a sudden burst when pedal is punched with rpms going up but most of the time no to slow raise of rpms with pedal engaged. Hooked code reader up to it and read ignition coil. Replaced the coil and changed plugs and wires. Truck still not running right. what gives? Is this a fuel pump, cats clogged, cylinder issue? Please help

Did you clear the codes? If not do that and take it for a short drive, if symptoms persist pull codes again to see what came back. If there are no codes then get a fuel pressure gauge(parts stores will often have these on a rental/loan program) and check pressure.

Post up any code numbers you have right now or get after the above procedure.

Yes I cleared the codes (only 1 code showed it was the ignition coil) then took for short test drive. I shut it off then re-did the code reader. Same code came up on ignition coil. This is after a brand new coil was installed. Will check fuel pressure when I can get ahold of a guage.

There are no "bad ignition coil" codes. Are you talking about misfire codes?

Something to consider if you are getting misfire codes: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post15040592
