Big time miss....
I have an '04 S CREW, 5.4 engine, 175,000 miles on it. When accelerating on to the freeway, it seems to have a big time miss between 45, and 70, while accelerating, under load. Acts like a coil is breaking down, or it is shorting out, but it does not store a code. Any thoughts? Plugs were replaced at 90,000.

Have you checked to see if a coil has come unplugged? I chased a miss for almost a week in my Expedition when I owned it. I finally made it throw a code by driving it like a race car! It threw the code and I replaced the coil and plug and all was good. Before it threw a misfire code, it threw out several other bogus codes.
