Tested the VGT% at idle when i got back and it slowly worked down to 14 than stayed

And i dont have knowledge about vgt relearn but will look.

Going back to the ebp sensor unplugged. I couldnt get the vehicle over 10 mph. Thought i was going to blow it up. Maybe ebpv on pedestal is stuck?
Something else is wrong. EBP unplugged should give a default reading and just run high boost. I just took a trip into town with it unplugged and it did exactly that. If you couldn't get above 10mph you have something sticking turbo side. It could be very well that the EBP is bad, but that's not the whole issue if you can't drive it when unplugged

being an 04, you have available to you a reflash that renders the EBP sensor useless, do you know if you have this?

Maybe i was being a sally but it was quit agressive. I will give it another go. Going to replace sensor, if nothing turbo's coming off.

Thanks for the help!

I do not know, is it through the programmer?

The flash to delete the EBP sensor is a dealer reflash, probably cheaper than the sensor itself. But a new sensor should do the same thing. Good luck

Admin thanks for the add. I'm having the same issue on my 05 excursion. Bought it used got it home and it threw a code p0470 EBP sensor malfunction (so said my scanguage). Pulled it, it metered bad, changed it, cleaned the tube, cleared the code!! Good to go. Shortly after I noticed the loss of and no turbo. CEL.. p0299 turbo underboost. VGT read 85% at idle, not normal...cept I don't have a cat converter...not that much backpressure. Got on the road and the VGT's would bottom out at 15%, not good. Pulled the turbo, broke it down, cleaned and inspected the unison ring, all good, put it back together and tested the actuator on the bench, it worked. Reinstalled the turbo...p0299 again. Read some other forums, the EGR valve came up...pulled the plug on the valve and the turbo returned to normal operation. SO I pulled the egr valve it was clogged bad...cleaned and replaced the rings and reinstalled, cleared codes, and p0299 again. Replaced EGR valve and to no avail the same issue of turbo surging... Is it time for a new turbo?? With the price of the VGT solenoid, add a couple of more buck and buy a new turbo....It has 145K on it. The only mod I can see is that there is no cat converter and a SCT logo on the back may indicated some type of tune. EBP MAP BARO are well within spec.
