Curious as to what member's use for painting frames, engine compartment, components, and brackets? When I first reconditioned the engine compartment on the 65 many years ago I used the black Zero Rust, either in 1/2 or 1 gal. containers, or aerosol cans, found it was basically spray-on, and let dry applications. Now finding it difficult to come-by, those who carry the product will not ship to Ca.? Seemed to me a suitable alternative to the period correct 60's paint for the engine compartment, and brackets; etc., in my view, a blend of a Semi Gloss and Flat sheen?
Not a particular fan of Por15, have used the product but for a specific applications. I found when marred it tends to peel rather than leave a scratch mark and for me difficult to repair.
If a member(s) can suggestion another similar product I would appreciate it!!.
I just used Rustoleum semi-gloss. Sprayed frame, inner fenders and firewall. Used rattle cans on the other small items. I think it came out pretty good.
I have to pick up parts tomorrow and intend purchasing an aerosol can of the Rustoleum semi-black and check it out. I have not used it but understand from customer reviews it's a very good product.
