engine painting
Would acetone be good to clean body panels prior to priming? After the engine is done I'll be taking care of some exterior rust spots.
Thanks,
Mark
Acetone can cause you some problems (damaging paint for one example). It also has a very fast evaporation rate (which can cause incomplete cleaning).
Go to an auto paint store and ask for a wax and grease remover. All of your auto degreasers are designed to be safe for the paint and they do an excellent job. I use "Prep-All" by Klean Strip and if I remember right, only pay about $7/gallon. Spray it on and wipe off with paper towels.
