my '08, 6.4L SuperDuty 4x4 Diesel won't start. read something to try on the wrong site apparently and now it won't start. I took out the fuses for the ECM for over 10 minutes and she is dead in the driveway. Glad I did it at home and not on the road, but what have I done and what can I do to start again. Then I will get it in to a dealer to diagnose my other issues, unfortunately I believe my 4x4 front locking hubs have starting failing from being under muddy water for 4 days (literally). Now trans is slipping too! Bad day all around.

Reason: Should have titled this "HELP PLEASE"
Pretty much cause I'm an idiot, (thats the bottom line). I was reading up on possible causes for my trans slipping and came across a post about someone resetting the error codes by pulling ECM fuse. I had an engine light come on with the slipping and thought maybe I could reset the system and get it to go through the idle and relearn my driving habits for Fuel Economy.
I looked at the fuse diagram and blindly pulled #36,37(trans), 39 and went to cleaning the cab and back seat. then I put them back in and now it won't start. not turning over at all. Electronics work batteries are good.
In hindsight, should have read more before attempting something like that blindly. I have an el cheapo code reader and it says that it 3/5 of I/M monitors Test are incomplete, (misfire, Catalyst, EGR)
But my first thought is check to make sure the fuses are good... And to do a relearn you don't pull the fuses, you pull the battery cables for a few min. Did you try to start the truck with the fuses out?
P1000 is normal any time you reset codes or re tune. Ignore it..
The egt code on the other hand will cause a no start. P20E3 Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 1/3 Correlation Bank 1
Watch your scanner and see what sensor exactly is maxed or not reading. Replace that sensor and you should be good to go. Or bring it to the dealer and let them do it. You WILL need a torch... The damn sensors almost always break when you try to remove them.
It should go into a 90min safe mode then it will restart and shut back down. The truck thinks the dpf is over heating and is trying to keep it from being damaged. Long story short, no... You won't be able to drive it as it will go into limp mode and then shut down on you.
Your best bet if you have tools and time go grab a new sensor from ford then put it in. If you don't have a torch let it sit for a few hours soaked in pb blaster then go at it. If you don't have the tools you will need to tow it to a shop so they can do it. The egt sensors are a common issue on 6.4s and 6.7s.
I am really embarrassed to post this "fix".
Apparently there is no end to my stupidity....
Not only did i pull the wrong fuse, when I put it back in, it was in the wrong slot. KISS
I went back down the chart and noticed that the starter fuse was missing! DUH!
I still have the other issues to deal with now, the slipping trans and the locking wheel hubs that have a light roar. The worst part about all this is that I have decent mechanical knowledge on most things, just got in a hurry to screw stuff up and succeeded. Needless to say it started right up when the fuse was back home.
Question, can the hubs going out cause the trans to slip.
