I have a 2001 f250 that already has a leveling leaf spring pack up front, and I found a rough country drop bracket kit for the springs too. Could I use that with my existing kit to get about 6.5 inches? How safe you guys think it is?
I am no expert on lift kits because I don't have one and have never installed one. Although, knowing what I do know about the suspension and travel I would not trust it to be pieced together with spare parts. I need to have 100% confidence in my truck in every aspect.
A leveling kit should be 2" - 2.5". Not sure where you're getting your 6.5" from unless you're adding a lift kit drop bracket to the leveling kit.
In theory it would work, but what works on paper and what works when you throw several tons of steel down the freeway are two different things. I'd vote against trying this. Either get larger drop brackets or new springs.
Whatever you do, remember you also need to address the front end geometry to make it work. Drop pitman arm. Drop bracket or adjustable sway bar. Front end alignment. Brake line and vacuum hose extensions. And a better steering stabilizer is recommended.
And for the record, don't stack rear blocks to bring up the back end.
If u have a 2 inch spring pack and your talking about a drop shackle and hanger yes it will work but u still need to bring your arm down track bar drop shocks sway links to to finish it off
