Okay so I have a 2003 F150 4x4. I think I might have a problem with my right rear shock because when I am driving slowly or get out of the truck, the rear end squeaks a little bit. But when I stand in the bend and jump up and down, it doesn't squeak at all. It's annoying and was wondering if there were any ways to diagnose this problem without buying new shocks? Would love some opinions and advice.
only way is to get a buddy and do the test together... one guy bounce on truck, push fender, wiggle when in the seat.......... other guy lays under the truck and try to pinpoint noise. can be shocks, frame mounts , spring mounts..
If the shock is bad, normally you will get an excessive bounce when you jump on the bumper.. Normal is for the truck to become stable quickly after you stop jumping.. Also whey you corner at high speed , if you feel the truck "floating" around the corner it can be the shocks......They are not repairable unless you see the cover or boot dragging and causing a noise, that you can remove or bend slightly..also look at the rubber mounts on the end of the shock if you think the noise is coming from them.
code came up on my 1996 f-150 xl 4.9l P0155 I know there is three o2 sensors but I can't figire out where the bank 2 sensor 1 is .I know sensor one means upstream so there is now two sensors up stream .one on each manafold . Witch sensor is it the one on the manafold closer to the firewall or the one on the manafold closer to the radiator? Can anyone help me please ?
Bank #1 is the portion that includes cylinder #1.
So bank #2 is the portion that doesn't include cylinder #1.
Therefor the upstream sensor nearer the firewall is HO2 sensor 21.
Okay I think I found the problem. When I got under the truck, the noise was coming from the right rear shock. It only takes a little bit of a push on the bumper to make the noise, but when jumping on it I can't hear it at all.
if its just the external can around the shock, you might be able to PUSH it back to center so it does not drag.. If its the rubber bushing on the end, you need to replace.
