Hope yall don't mind me re-using this thread. The title works perfect for this post.
A while back when I was re-building the carb I snapped this picture hoping to ask yall what part this was and what was it's purpose. One of the wires that goes down around the trans has snapped. One the the lines goes to the vac advance and the other to the carb if I remember correctly...
Also last weekend putting in new brake lines I unhooked one end of this spring and the other end fell off before I could see where it was attached to. It is over a foot long and it was around the steering box/drivers side front. Anyone know?

The spring does indeed look like the clutch fork to frame bracket spring.
The solenoid looks like the Distributor modulator valve assy. That would be two wires and two rubber hoses. One to the vacuum source and the other to one of the dual area diaphragm vacuum advance ports.

10-4 on fork return spring. Fat end to the engine stand and long end to the fork.
It been a while ago, but that chingadera on the back of your block was on another thread and numerdummy posted a diagram.
I think you are onto something teach. Where exactly are they located?
Lowest portion of the inner fender, nearest the firewall. Driver side is below the steering shaft and passenger side below the heater core hoses. 1 bolt to the firewall connecting the rubber isolator to the inner fender with another bolt. Keepsemfromfloppin.
