The "name that part" thread

I almost have my truck put back together and I have two shoulder bolts that I believe came off when I was removing the front clip, engine and transmission from the truck...that's about the time I noticed them on my workbench. I'm about to put the front clip back on and I still have no idea where they're supposed to live.

The threads are 3/8-16, the shoulder is 7/16" diameter and 1/4" long and it has a 9/16" hex head. It looks like they were coated with Loctite. Thanks for your help!

They look like hood hinge bolts for a 40-47, never seen anything like that on a bump that I can remember.

Don't think they are factory for anything I can think of. Don't think they had red loctite on factory bolts back then.

Shoulder belt bolts? For those threaded holes by your shoulder?

I sure don't recognize those from a bump truck. Maybe to put frame members together? Engine perches perhaps?

It doesn't have rag joint.

Nope, but they could be parts from the hennway or there off the old commencer.

That's what I was thinking, they were off the frame or trans. mount?

Aftermarket bolts taking the place of the rivets for the radius arm brackets to frame? A lot of guys have cut out those rivets to change the radius arm bushings rather than messing with the suspension.

I've seen that style on the top lid for a 4 speed but I dont think the shoulder was quite that long.

I have two bolts that look just like that. Only problem is that although I bagged and labeled most parts the one that looks most like it wasn't bagged but I think it went to a bracket I'll have to double check and see if I can find any more other wise the other one in the picture has a smaller head and that one went to the brake pedal connection from the master cylinder

I'll see what else I can find later tonight when I go work on my truck

Thanks for checking.

Yes it does, with the thin hex head.

Could they be from the brake warning switch/proportioning valve or the pivot mounts on the engine and frame for the clutch z-bar?
