That drill press is a piece of industrial art! Unfortunately OSHA is deploying a swat team as we speak.
Yep, it probably breaks 6 or 7 different local, state, federal and international laws ha ha. Ain't she a beaut?
Not homemade though have my grandpas electric hedge trimmer, from the 1940s maybe, I dunno. Weighs about 20 pounds, solid metal body. Complete with electrical tape repair around the cord, gramps must had some excitement with that thing at one point or another. It's geared nice and low, so it sounds nice, relaxing clatter. Completely "unsafe" by modern standards I suppose. In those days, it was just sort of unspoken that ya just didn't do stupid ****, or it would hurt.
If you run the gas engine you will have to have a way to control the blower. You can't just turn it on. Maybe some kind of stomp pedal to a belt tensioner. With the electric motor you use a rheostat pedal.
The no. 203 is a post drill similar to yours, just larger.
Mark, your puller is a true masterpiece. I know all about the kids leaving home. 2 boys, 2 girls... Not a lot of careers on Orcas Island so they are all in Seattle now. Oldest 3 graduated from college, and youngest who spent the most time with dad after the deevorce works in an auto body shop down there. Funny he just called me about 20 minutes ago. Like you, I miss my kids, but am also proud they get by on their own. Excuse me for repeating this photo, but I can't help myself. OK I added some more photos. The girl in the last photo is getteing married on the island in August. There will be over 200 attending mostly his family from northern California. There are a million things I should do around the place before that but all I wanna do is work on stuck flatheads and drive some more screws into the woodie. Fortunately my kids know me and know I will never change. On the plus side we will have a dinner the night before where we roast a 120 lb pig in the old diesel tank on a 35 ford axle.
Yes, but it went away in an epic jailbar swap last fall. Everything imaginable was wrong with it. I only drove it on the county road once and it started boiling and stalled out. My wife happened by and I talked her into towing me home, but she went too fast like 15 mph, and I couldn't steer it and ended up in the ditch with her still towing me. It finally climbed out but was all over the road. She finally pulled over about two miles from home and cut me loose. I walked to a friends place and it was a sunday and they were having a birthday party for their grandaughter, but he got up and towed me home. Neither of our wives were very happy. Neither me or the truck should have been on the road that afternoon, but I live way out of town and it was just gonna be a short test drive... Ok, that's my novel about my AA. I have had two others, but that's a chapter for another time.

I have had 2 AA's, 2 TT's and several T's. Used this AA to help with projects to heavy for me.
The black TT was an un-restored 1924, had it 10 years, drove the wheels off it. Sold it to make room for the panel. The red T pickup had a hot rod T engine in it and I also drove the heck out of that for 10 years, sold it for an A. Ahh the saga continues.
Wow! and I see gas engines too. Look up 1912 8 hp stover hit and miss engine on youtube. I never knew someone was making a video as I was busy trying to start a cummins 6at in the background. That cummins is now in my '59 f350 pickup. The stover's head was missing and stuck everywhere, but I brought her back from the dead in 1989 and now I keep it in an engine shed at a showground off island. She's a runner fer sure.

Yes I have that disease too, at one point I had so many I could not get in and out of the garage. Got rid of em all back in 06 and did not have one until September of last year. I was going to restore this one, big mistake, I got my finger caught in the dang thing while explaining to a crowd of people how it works, off went the finger. 4 hours later it was back on and now it looks pretty good. Decided 2 things, don't talk and mess with them at the same time and sell it and stay focused on the many other projects I have going at the time. I can always go back to them later.

That engine (un-restored Hercules)I saved out of mill similar to that one you have on on U-tube.
Found a photo of me using the crane truck to move one of those hit n miss engines into the truck for a show.

Reason: forgot word
I'm down to the big stover, a 2 1/2 hp jaeger and a couple of overhead valve briggs from the 20's. Oh and the aerothrust outboard.
Love the Aerothrust. I do my best to keep the projects to a min. these days, too much on my plate. I have a lot of stuff to get rid of. Anybody need a runner flathead? I have 2 that run but need to be rebuilt, one is the one I just pulled from the big truck, the other was in my panel. I am sure the one from the pane had never been rebuilt. Making space for more Tonner stuff.
Got a rebuilt one ready to go into the big truck now.
