Carburetor help

Hello, I have a 1979 Ford F-150 with a 302 v8 engine, I recently bought a new carburetor and now I cannot get the truck to stay running any help would be fantastic, I have no clue what I'm doing wrong.

Since we don't know what carb you have, Holley has a nice website that has enough info you should be able to get a basic understanding....

Well, knowing nothing as already said, a guess would be if it has a egr spacer under it, it might be burned out. When the nuts were taken off and the carb removed it could have disturbed it, broken it's seal and it's now leaking. Just a guess not knowing anything though.
