carb spacer??
I'm changin my junk 2100 carb out for a new 500 cfm 2bbl holley today. While taking off the carb I found this spacer thing underneath it P/N: d4te 9a589-Gb or -6b can't tell for sure. it looks like a regular spacer except it has and extra piece made into the back of it with what looks like vacuum passages. One of these is actually rusted through. So my question is, do I need this thing or can I chuck it and put in shorter carb studs? Thanks a lot as always guys.

Jon, it sounds like an EGR spacer. You can't chuck it because it covers the EGR hole in the carb. pad and you won't find anything else that can seal over that hole. Lift it off and verify the EGR hole on the passenger side of the carb. flange.
