Hey guys, figured I'd just bring a little attention to the "Ask an Engineer" section here on FTE, where you can get actually responses from Ford Engineers to questions you may have
Maybe I'll ask them why I have to turn in my driving/fog lights every time if I manually turn in my headlights but in auto it remembers. I mean I understand that manual and auto are two totally opposites, but if I had them on once it really should remember that.

They dictate the questions of the week. To get an answer, you'll need to refine your question to their topic.

What's wrong with auto headlights? Seems to work ok so far.
The auto works fine. It's just if I turn the lights off manually then turn them back on it doesn't remember that I also had the driving/fog lights on as well because of the type of switch used.

Just thinking out loud, but I believe you're asking for too much complexity for a simple task of turning on fog lights.
This is the first out of 5 or 6 vehicles that have done this. It's all in the type of switch used. Instead of a true in/off it is a momentary that, I would guess, turns on something in a smart junction box. Once the power is turned off it stays off.
I mean the headlights stay on when I turn them on. So do the windshield wipers. Just an oddity in the make of the vehicle.
Or if it wasn't a separate switch. Like the 95-99 Ram. You would turn the headlight **** and pull out at the same time to turn everything on.
It's just weird having to hunt for the switch every time, something I will get used to over time.
Just checked. My fog lights stay on in auto mode, but not if you manually turn them off. Kinda weird. The mirror spotlights are the same way. They turn off as soon as you begin to drive, then stay off.
I would like to know your thoughts on adding a catch can. My truck is being delivered in about a week and I've read a whole lot of threads on the issue but people always seem divided on weather its needed or not. I know I see what comes out of those cans and I wouldnt think that Ford would want that cycled back through the engine. Would you think that the people having issues might just simply not have the correct plug gap? Really curious to hear a Ford techs opinion.
