Feeling stupid

Quick question. I am not sure what these 4 holes that look like lights are. I know the answer is going to be real simple and I am going to feel stoopid when it's answered but of the kids asked me what it was and first I was it's a light. Then I couldn't turn it on, so after looking through the manual, I can't figure it out.

There are 4 of them. 2 facing to front occupants and 2 straight down.

2 are cameras the other 2 are microphones to record your conversations. All cars and trucks starting in 2017 must come with them so the NSA can monitor its citizens. They are connected to your WIFI and transmit to various federal and local data storage facilities or they are sensors for the alarm. They are one of the two for sure.

I bet you are not far off.

I bet law enforcement has the ability to turn your truck off and monitor you "if" you are doing something the state doesn't think is korrect.

It is pretty clear, and in bold, right at the start of your owner's manual that your truck is equipped with sensors right up the gazzinga and that the information would "only" be shared with law enforcement with a warrant.

In short, Joneser5000 is probably VERY close.

yes The law

With a warrant they can tell where you been. Your speeds you drive. When you stopped which doors opened. This has been on Ford cars and trucks for decades.

I was just being silly but yes big brother has had that technology built into cars for years. I don't believe the original intention for the technology was to monitor your whereabouts and infringe on your personal business, I think that was an after thought. I want to believe this technology is in place for the convenience of the owner not Big Brother.

Its my understanding thought that (I could be wrong, I never verify anything) years ago a law was pass that would require auto manufactures to include a "shut down" feature to all cars produce starting on XX/XX/XX date. I don't know when but I am going to guess all cars build within the past 4-5 years all posses that same technology. That includes your less expensive economy cars as well. Some day the officer will not need to tell you to pull over, he will just send a signal to your vehicle and the on board computers will pull over for you like it or not. No more exciting car chases on the local news.

Ok. If one wanted to disconnect these invasive sensors, does anyone know where they are located and what happens if they are unplugged?

Before anyone gets their panties in a wad, if you think this is ok technology to have installed in your personal property, then lets go ahead and have all vehicles defuel the second you exceed 1 mph above the speed limit, install cockpit recorders and cameras to see what you are saying and doing at all times and while we are at it, gps tracking couldn't hurt so everyone can track your neighbors whereabouts.

While these devices could be useful in a court of law, they are also a slippery slope that allow bureaucrats into places of your life they don't belong, but who am I to think the Government will never exceed their constitutional authority and reach.

They are pressure sensors for the alarm. I wouldn't mess with them? Big brother doesn't care about your alarm system
