I have a 2013 F150 super crew with 5.0. There is a growling noise that happens when the tach says 1000. Not much before or after the RPM range. Any Ideas? Any TSBs?
Only at 1000 rpms. It sounds like a machine gun fire at that rpm. Took it in to dealer today and he thinks it is a lifter. tear it down in the morning. Glad to have extended warranty.
Crystal, work is complete. All lifters replace under extended warranty. I use Preferred extended warranty. I have 67,860 miles on the truck. The only issue I have had was an exhaust valve that went bad and Ford replaced the drivers side head at 46,000.

I'm glad to hear that you're all fixed up, cdmm151! If you need any help in the future, just give me a shout.
