Hi guys I have a 2011 f150 5.0 with about 70k on it now. About 1.5 years ago I noticed a very faint ticking/knocking noise so I took it into two separate dealerships. Both told me this was normal noise and not to worry.Back then the truck was under warranty. Fast forward to now and the ticking/knocking has gotten much louder. Kind of sounds like it's coming from cylinder #4 when I was using my stethoscope. Anyone have any experience with this and anyone think I have a prayer at getting this covered under warranty since I've already brought this problem to the dealership attention before?
My truck has it as well. Had it to the dealership twice....they claim it's normal. That's a load of crap!! It ISN'T normal. The only time is isn't normal is when it's out of warranty.

Thanks in advance!!
I'm hearing the same thing on my 2012. It has 71k. Luckily I have the extended 100k powertrain warranty. I am taking it on next Monday to see what the dealer tells me. I'm hoping I don't get the "it's normal" run around but I'm guessing that's what it will be.
I have seen several posts on here about #4 cylinder knock on the 5.0. It seems these engines have a problem with that particular cylinder becoming warped out of round and causing piston slap. It will need an engine if that is the case.

I have a 2011 with 157000km on it.
That's about 90 000miles.
runs great....lots of power...through you back in the seat...
problem is I just bought it, for $17500.
Been looking for a 150 for a while .
This one was clenched, no rust...clean interior..
I'm in ontario Canada, by Niagara Falls.
Road salt country.
And trucks are expendive.
No rust....serviced new at dealer since new.
Will the engine blow...what do I do ?
Does all 5.0l make this sound?
Feel like I have been scammed.
The dealer said that was normal.
I don't know much about engines..
Came with a Lubrico 50000mile/4year warranty.
Up to 3000 per claim....with a 150 deductible.
