hey everyone, is there a way to turn of the factory stereos auto 45 minute shut off timer, and its low battery shut off? is that in the stereo its self or is it controlled by something else? 2011 f150 xlt with sync. will putting a aftermarket radio stop that? thanks!
My truck displayed the low battery message after shut down, started this when the truck was a year old. I finally replaced the Motorcraft battery"even though testing says good battery" and all is good now. Not sure if this is what your looking for?
Haha yes, in acc mode, my stereo only stays on for 45 minutes, can that be disabled some how? Iv never worried about killing a battery form running the stereo all day. Is it in the stereo or the trucks wiring itself? I replaced the battery today and immediately it displayed system off to save battery, it's brand new and fully charged. Effectively making my stereo useless with out the engine running.
Like Izzy said, its part of the battery management software in the truck. There is no way to disable it as far as I know. I just start the truck for 5 min and reset the timer.
None, I had it inspected by ford the other day for an extended warranty, they hooked up to it and passed it with flying colors, as long as you can tell when your killing the battery, all is good!!
