There are two different four speed overdrive transmission available on this vintage truck, AOD and E4OD. One is a mechanical OD trans. and the other is electronic OD. They are different lengths therefore the drive shafts are going to be different lengths and perhaps the yoke as well. I suspect you have the AOD since that is the more common behind a 5L truck.
I would suspect a driveshaft on a 1987 to ~1993 F150 with an AOD and same bed length/cab should work. 1994 Ford started using the 4R70W behind the 5L trucks. As well as the same sprinkling of E4ODs.

The easiest way to make sure you get the correct drive shaft is to take a tape measure with you to the junk yard.
You can determine your transmission by looking at the shape of the transmission itself, or by the shape of the pan. Do a search, it's pretty well covered...
