Steering Column Firewall Seal
Does anyone know where to find a new steering column firewall seal?

They only carry the rubber piece not the metal piece that is enclosed in rubber.

I am doing a rebuild of the column and that is the only thing i cannot find anywhere new.

OK my guess on this is that you buy the two new rubber style pieces and sandwich the old metal support piece between them. This is the piece inside the truck not the metal one outside. Does this sound correct?

When I was installing my steering column all I could find new was the rubber seal, none of the other components were available.
I found a set of brackets at pick n pull though which worked out nice. Here are some pics of mine that show the proper setup for a 75.

Power or manual steering? They're different.
What year is your truck?
EDIT: I just checked the parts catalog and the illustration shows the seal and the metal retainer as two separate pieces.

78 F-250 4x4 automatic, built 400. I cleaned up the metal piece and will order it all and see what it all looks like. I will take pictures if I could ever figure out how to post the dang things.

There should be 1 seal of that steel /rubber style on the column...I have 5 of them.
