Wipers

Hey guys. I have a 1987 f250 ext 4x4. It has the stock wipers and wiper switch that does not have intermittent. Its on slow or on high. Got tired of that, but want to keep the truck a collector, so I found an aftermarket wiper controller for the intermittent. Its and easy set up , it just has a positive , negative, and then you cut the low circuit wire and put both ends on. The only problem I am having, is it has two types of generic assembly drawings. Or wire diagrams. One is for a "Common positive " the other " Common negative"???? Sounds dumb, but which do these trucks have. On one i'm tapping the negative, the other the low positive. Can anyone clarify this??

Anyone?? How about this then. Does anyone have a wire diagram of the 1987 wiper switch and motor?? Non intermittent?? I have a Haynes manual, but it only lists 85 year. So I 'm assuming its the same, but although it provides wire colours, it doesn't tell what any of the wires are? Isn't that stupid. An electrical drawing with colour coding that doesn''t tell what any of the wires are.

Thanks but that's the intermittent. And it has the governor thingy. Mine is the basic on low or on high. No governor. I just need to know which wires are +, -, LW,lo,hi. So 5 wires need Identifying. I can trace the positive and negative. But the low and high and LW are hard to trace because they are intermittent, then the park circuit takes over. So I'm not fast enough to see which is which when tracing. Lol

Why not just pull an intermittent switch and wiper governor module from any Bronco or optioned pickup?

Looked at the switch and governer. Non in wreckers, and new was almost 200. The module is only 12 bucks with the ****, and I can still claim collector since the stock configuration is complete and I can remove it if inspected. Saves over half on my insurance. To answer the other fellow. Its a Wiper Timer Module (Model MXA041) and it will work on any wiper system with self park wipers. Which is almost all. It can be found at "Qkits Ltd". They are in Kingston Ontario Canada. You can order online, and they have a US distributor so no worrys on border stuff. It is 12 bucks , plus a **** at 1.20, and a plastic box if you like. It basically taps into the Lo wiper circuit and interrupts it for up to 1 to 30 seconds. No numbers, just a dial **** you turn were you like it. In the off position the Lo circuit functions as normal. Hope that helps.
