Arrow Tail gate trim question

I looked at a 2015 King Ranch F-150 last Saturday on a lot after the dealership had closed.

It was a $62,000 truck. BUT, the tailgate did NOT have the funky looking brushed chrome piece that said King Ranch on it. I was wondering why?

is it an option? (Not that I necessarily like it, just curious).

I may be wrong but I think it comes on the Platinum & Limited only. I do have it on my Platinum Super Duty and while tastes are subjective, I don't particularly care for it. It does make the truck stand out from the crowd a bit though I'll admit.

Arrow

I was looking on autotrader the other night, and I "thought" I had seen one with that trim on it.

Maybe old age is playing tricks on my eyes !!!

You mean like this?

To get this I think I had to add the chrome appearance package.

Like Glue Guy said, chrome package. Also makes the tailgate more attractive to thieves in my part of the country. Super Duty Platinum tailgates get stolen like crazy. Nice that the F150 tailgate locks with the doors now.

I've never seen this one. I like this better than the Platinum bling.

I try and keep the tailgate locked, but like everybody I forget occasionally.
I got a lock that goes around the right post so that the tailgate cannot be removed without taking the lock off, at least supposedly. I got one from Amazon for less less than $20.

I imagine a determined thief could figure some way around it but it looks like it would be very difficult. At the very least they would have to work at it and it would slow them down considerably.

Ford is making a lock now that goes on the hinge now. Tailgates are popular to steal in my area too.
