My first adventure!!

Ive never done this before. I purchased a 01 7.3 2wd X that was 1200 miles from my house. Site unseen in person but I did send someone to look at it first. I flew last night to pick it up and today I took it for its first 1200 miles adventure. Well to tell you I have been impressed is an understatement. It is a monster!!! A beast!!! And I can't wait until my 30ft travel trailer is resting comfortably behind it. At 75 80 mph I was getting 20+ mpg!!!!! Holy cow!!! Well I guess you can say I'm happy with my king of all suv's!!!!

I have a lot to learn before I start to mod! First thing on the list is new mirrors! I hate those little mirrors.

I did the same thing when I bought mine. Flew in and drove it 1000 miles. Best way to shake it down. If your doing mirrors do the 08 up ones. There are some posts about them.
Welcome to the madness.

Downhill in a hurricane.

OMFG, I bet you were using the Lie-O-Meter.

Take a breath, run three tanks of fuel then hand calculate.

I can get 20mpg at 60 mph on the highway on a long trip. Never came close to that doing 75. Hand calculated.

I did not calculate by hand I'll do that next time. As far as down hill there were no hills to drive the whole trip was mostly flat
