The day I found the console in the junk yard I was really after seats.... The navigator has a pretty sweet rear console but I passed it up because the whole reason I wanted a second row bucket set up is to make a permanent home for my ARB fridge/freezer.
Almost done with the rear setup.... Just need to finish the cover for my amps which I moved.
Originally planned to cover the top in leather but the new paint job is growing on me.
since I don't own a camcorder to plug into the RCA jacks Or have a factory radio to control I ditched The stock panel and built my own ahead and built my own

That looks very clean Pirate, but I'm lost as to what part that is.....?
I think pirate needs a build thread, time lapse photos and the whole nine yards!
Nice work. I gotta be honest though for me I really Ike the open area in front of the stock console. Personally it makes me feel way less tight or closterphobic in the cabin area, seriously.
I'm not a closterphobic person but that big console is what a hated about the 07 denali we just got rid of.

I get it, it is Just me....
I'm with you, sometimes I like to place my foot up there.

It is the back facing cover.
These consoles are a bit different then the excursions in how they are assembled. The console you see has 4 outside panels , 2 sides , tray, and a back cover that attach to inside core support.

Agree, my taller front seat passengers use that space for leg room as well. As previously discussed, the front passenger really gets hosed for leg room with the trans tunnel and what I think is space for the starter.
I have been thinking about finding a collapsible stand to put a tablet with TorquePro on it, then mounting the stand inside the front cubby of the center console. I had my truck close to five months before I realized that cubby even existed....
this thread motivated me to work on my console project today.
the PO had painted the leather top pad so I stripped that off and dyed it. its still drying so we will have to wait and see how the color turns out but here it is wet.
When i get a color and finish I like I will do the steering wheel, console top and make a leather top for the ARB.
I want a distressed saddle leather look to it as opposed to the typical slick and polished auto interior.

Very cool, and again, very clean installation there!
Are you doing anything with the hollow space under the new front "bin" in front of the folding console top? How much space is there under there?
I love the ARB fridge/ice cream cooler, but I can't afford to give up that much real estate in ours.
